Bradley Beal gives encouraging update on injury after scary fall

The Washington WIzards won their eight straight, defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 119-110. Bradley Beal scored a game-high 33 points on 13-of-24 shooting. However, he watched the final 30 or so seconds of the game from the bench after a scary fall late in the fourth quarter.

Beal drove to the basket to score a layup. However, he crashed to the floor holding his leg. A timeout was called, and it took him a moment to regather himself to get off the floor and walk over to the bench.

He trade to give it a go after the timeout, but it was clear he could barely move.

Following the win, Beal said a potential Achilles injury was ruled out.

Beal then described what happened on the play, and what he felt when the injury occurred.

Hopefully, all is good for the Wizards’ leading scorer. Washington is slated to play the San Antonio Spurs Monday, so Beal won’t have much time to recover before their next game.

The team will need him and prefer him on the court. The Wizards currently are 10th in the Eastern Conference, holding on to the final spot in the play-in series. In addition to their eight-game win streak, the Wizards have won 11 straight games Beal has played in. So it will be imperative to have him out on the court Monday against the Spurs.
