The MLB All-Star Game is supposed to be an exhibition for fans to enjoy their favorite stars around league. However, it’s still a competitive game and in the first inning MLB and Washington Nationals fans got a real scare.
Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ripped a line drive that barely sailed past a ducking Max Scherzer. The Washington Nationals ace escaped harm. After being thrown out at first, Vlad Jr. made sure to offer his apologies by hugging Scherzer.
The fact Scherzer was not injured, it’s all laughs and smiles going around. But it was a close call. Fortunately, the incident will go down as a memorable moment for good reasons. Much like when Randy Johnson unintentionally fired one at the head of John Kruk in 1993.
