Washington Football Team signs Ted the Bird to a lifetime contract

The New York Yankees had a wild cat for a night. Victor Robles and the Washington Nationals had a praying mantis for a night. But, the Washington Football Team has ‘Ted the Bird’ for a lifetime.

Ted is a bird that has visited Washington’s practice the past two days in Richmond, Virginia, according to Ben Standig of The Athletic. The bird has walked the sidelines in the direction of the offense during the two-minute drill.

He’s even joined the NBC Sports Washington’s camera crew.

Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post gave him his name, Ted. She also tried to get an interview with him but he was busy trying to keep up with his new teammates.

Jhabvala says she doesn’t need the “3% commission” for giving Ted his name. As the Washington Football Team prepares for the season, they have their unofficial mascot of training camp.
