Baltimore Ravens running back JK Dobbins is out for the season with a torn ACL, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. An MRI Sunday confirmed a the season-ending injury.
Dobbins was carted off the field in Saturday’s preseason finale against the Washington Football Team. He suffered an awkward hit when he was tackled by cornerback Jimmy Moreland and linebacker Jordan Kunaszyk.
A second-round draft pick in 2020, Dobbins emerged as a rookie. He rushed for 805 yards and nine touchdowns last season.
This season he was expected for an increased role as the Ravens lead back. Baltimore played its starters in the preseason finale against Washington. The loss of Dobbins is a huge blow. Now, the Ravens will presumably turn to Gus Edwards and Ty’son Williams.
