Baltimore Ravens running back JK Dobbins will undergo an MRI Sunday to determine the extent of his knee injury, head coach John Harbaugh announced. However, the team is fearing the worse, according to Michael Silver.
Dobbins was carted off the field in the first quarter of Saturday’s preseason finale against the Washington Football Team. He was sandwiched on a tackle off a screen pass. It appeared his knee hyperextended after being directly hit by the shoulder of Washington cornerback Jimmy Moreland.
Baltimore’s starters played the first couple of drives of the game, including quarterback Lamar Jackson. Meanwhile, Washington didn’t play any of its expected starters.
Dobbins’ agent provided a vote of confidence as the uncertainty of his injury looms.
Dobbins was drafted in the second round last year. As a rookie, he rushed for 805 yards and nine touchdowns. He was expected to get a significant increased role within the Ravens offense. Now, his status for the season hangs in the balance.
