Could the Washington Football Team be adding a running back to their roster? Washington worked out former Texas star running back D’Onta Foreman Monday, according to Aaron Wilson of SportsTalk 790.
Foreman was a consensus All-American in 2016 when he rushed for 2,028 yards and 15 touchdowns while playing for the Longhorns. The Houston Texans selected him in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. But, Foreman was unable to stick there.
He has played in 17 games in his NFL career, including six last season for the Tennessee Titans.
It’s unclear the level of interest for Washington. The team currently carries three running backs on their 53-man roster — Antonio Gibson, JD McKissic and undrafted rookie Jarett Patterson. Washington also has Jonathan Williams on the practice squad. None of them are considered short-yardage backs.
That’s a role Washington doesn’t quite have the ideal player for. D’Onta Foreman is considered a big bruising back at 6-foot-1, 236 pounds.
Wondering eyes will have to wait and see the logic behind the workout or if Washington signs Foreman or any other running back.
