Washington Football Team wide receiver Curtis Samuel returned to practice Wednesday. It was his first eligible practice after being placed on injured reserve ahead of Week 1 with a groin injury.
Samuel missed most of training camp and all three preseason games with a groin injury that hampered him throughout the summer. He returned to practice as the team geared up to start the season. But, he suffered a major setback that landed him on IR.
Being placed on IR, Samuel was forced to miss the first three games of the season. Wednesday was his first eligible practice to be designated to return.
“We’ll see how it goes on Wednesday,” Washington head coach Ron Rivera said on Monday per Ben Standig of The Athletic. “That’s the thing that we’re pretty excited as a group. I think the offensive coaches are pretty fired up to see exactly where he is. If he has a good day Wednesday, we’ll progress and go forward.”
By being designated from IR, Washington now has up to 21 days to activate him or they must leave him on injured reserve for the remainder of the season.
