Washington Football Team linebacker Jon Bostic suffered a pec injury in Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
There is feared the injury is serious. Bostic will undergo an MRI Monday to learn the severity.
Bostic left the game in the second half. He was among five Washington players who were ruled out of the game due to injuries. He had six tackles in 33 snaps against the Falcons.
Playing in his third season in Washington, the 30-year old has 22 tackles, including a tackle for loss through four games.
His potential absence will open the door for first-round draft piack Jamin Davis to receive an increase in snaps. Davis and Bostic have shared responsibilities as the Mike linebacker.
The idea was to bring Davis along slowly with the safety net of the veteran Bostic splitting snaps. While there has been struggles by Davis, he presents a faster and arguably better option in pass coverage than Bostic.
