Bradley Beal may have earned himself a spot on “Shaqtin’ a Fool.” The Washington Wizards three-time all-star missed back-to-back wide open layups on one possession to end the second quarter Wednesday against the Boston Celtics.
Wizards guard Spencer Dinwiddie got the steal off a Jayson Tatum pass. The Wizards pushed the ball up the court on a three-man break. The ball eventually ended in the hands of Bradley Beal.
Beal missed the first layup. Got his own rebound as Jaylen Brown soared past him. Then Beal missed a second. He rebounded his own miss again. But the final horn of the first half sounded.
Beal shared a laugh with teammates Kyle Kuzma and Dinwiddie. Meanwhile, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was floored.
Ironically, Beal made the third putback attempt after the frame had ended. Fortunately for Washington they led 62-52 halftime. But, he surely would love those two points.
