Former Georgetown Hoyas star Greg Monroe has joined the Capital City Go-Go (Washington Wizards affiliate) of the G-League, according to Shams Charnia of The Athletic.
Monroe, 31, averaged 16.7 points and 9.6 rebounds as a sophomore at Georgetown before entering the 2010 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-11 center was the seventh overall pick of the Detroit Pistons.
He spent five seasons with the Pistons before signing with the Milwaukee Bucks as a free agent in 2015. Ultimately he played nine seasons in the NBA. He spent time with the Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers.
Monroe last played in the NBA in 2019. Since then, he’s played overseas in Germany and Russia.
During his time in the NBA, Monroe averaged 13.2 point and 8.3 rebounds in 632 career games.
