Washington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma has been placed in the NBA’s health and safety protocol. He will miss Saturday’s game against the Utah Jazz.
Kuzma’s absence is fresh off his game-winning three in overtime against the Detroit Pistons. It’s also a game in which he was fined $15,000 for an obscene gesture directed at a fan.
Kuzma has not miss a game this season, starting in all 26 of the Wizards games. He is tied with Spencer Dinwiddie for third on the team in scoring with 13.4 points.
His ability to control the boards will be missed against the Jazz. Kuzma leads the team with 8.3 rebounds per game.
Kuzma becomes the 16th player currently in the league’s COVID-19 protocols.
