The Washington Wizards plan to sign center Greg Monroe to a 10-day contract on Thursday, according to the Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Monroe’s 10-day contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves expires Wednesday.
Monroe started the year with the Wizards’ G-League affiliate the Capital City Go-Go before inking a deal with the Timberwolves.
He has played in three games for Minnesota, averaging 6.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 21 minutes per game.
Prior to this season, Monroe had been playing professionally overseas since 2019.
Monroe, 31, starred at Georgetown in college for two seasons. He played majority of his home games at Capital One Arena, the home of the Wizards. He entered the NBA Draft in 2010 where he was the seventh overall pick by the Detroit Pistons.
