A fan ran onto the field in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s divisional round thriller between the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs. As security scrambled to apprehend the fan, Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs put in a helping hand to end the situation.
Just as the fan, wearing a Travis Kelce jersey, reached the players on the field, Diggs leveled him with a shoulder tackle. That allowed security to get a hold of the fan before dragging him off the field.
It’s a good thing Diggs laid the boom, because Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins was ready to pounce. As security apprehended the fan, Dawkins tossed one of his off the field.
The sequence happened just before the Bills faced a 4th and 13 from the 27-yard line with two minutes remaining. Following the chaos, the Bills converted the fourth down as Allen found Gabriel Davis in the end zone for a touchdown that gave Buffalo a 29-23 lead.
The two teams would trade touchdowns and then the Chiefs kicked a game-tying field to send the game into overtime. All of that happened in the final two minutes. The Chiefs won the game in OT 42-36.
