Washington Mystics guard Natasha Cloud showed Indiana Fever rookie Lexie Hull no mercy in Friday’s season opener. Cloud hit Hull with an ankle-breaking jab step that dropped the rook to the floor.
The move riled the Mystics fans inside the Entertainment and Sports Arena.
Mystics color announcer and Maryland Terrapins legend Christy Winters-Scott had the best words to describe Hull on the play, saying she did the “Wobble” and “hit a patch of ice.”
Cloud and the Mystics jumped out to a 19-point halftime lead with a 50-31 score.
Hull was a three-time All-Pac first-team, leading the Stanford Cardinal to a national championship in 2021. She was one of three first-round selections for the Fever in last month’s draft, as the sixth overall pick.
Hull will have better days once she is seasoned. However, Cloud gave her an ultimate “Welcome to the WNBA” moment.
