Maryland cornerback Tarheeb Still is out for Saturday night’s game against SMU following finger surgery. Still cut his finger in a “freak accident” last week, and had surgery to repair a tendon, Maryland head coach Mike Locksley said, per Wesley Brown of 247Sports.
Locksley added Still could return at Michigan on Sept. 24
Still was left off the depth chart for this week. He did not travel with the Terrapins last week for their 56-21 at Charlotte.
Maryland senior Jakorian Bennett and redshirt junior Deonte Banks are listed as starters at cornerback. The nickel corner will be either freshman Gavin Gibson or redshirt sophomore Glendon Miller.
Last season, Still had 40 tackles, 3.0 sacks, and ten passes defended in 13 games.
Redshirt senior wide receiver Jeshaun Jones will handle punt returns against SMU in place of Still. Still returned three punts for 44 yards in Week 1’s win against Buffalo.
