Former Washington Commanders wide receiver DeSean Jackson created a social media stir earlier Sunday. An Instagram post captioned, “Did it my way 15 years strong!! Never another like it!”
Many interpreted the post as Jackson’s way of announcing his retirement. Media outlets posted that Jackson retired. The assumption was premature.
Later in the day, Jackson clarified in a separate Instagram post, that he is not retiring.
“They reaching my last post wasn’t a retirement post!” Jackson stated. “I just had to get some stuff off my chest!! Y’all will know when the Boi retire!!
The 36-year-old Jackson has played 15 seasons in the NFL, including three with the Commanders and two stints with the Philadelphia Eagles. He also played two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and split a season between the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Rams.
