On Wednesday, the beef between former teammates Jordan Poole and Draymond Green resurfaced after Green’s appearance on the Patrick Beverley podcast. Green’s comments sparked a day-long dialogue between Green, Poole, Poole’s dad, and even his best friend.
Both sides of the fence added fire to the flame.
One day later, Jordan Poole got spotted in the boxing gym working on his hands. Fans immediately correlated his throwing punches to his beef with Draymond Green.
Poole and Green reportedly were close. Green was a mentor to the young combo guard. But all of that changed when Green punched Poole during a preseason practice.
Basketball players often use boxing as a training method, particularly during the offseason. It’s great for endurance and footwork. However, given the circumstances surrounding Poole, thoughts of Green jump out at anyone looking on.
Add in that Green and Poole’s father, Anthony, essentially made it clear it’s on sight with one another next time they cross paths, and one cannot blame the speculation.
Poole is now a member of the Washington Wizards, as the Warriors traded him earlier this month in a deal for future Hall of Famer Chris Paul. Nonetheless, the last 24 hours-plus have given the Warriors-Wizards matchups next season a heightened sense of excitement.
