The Dallas Cowboys brought their own sideline benches to Washington for Sunday’s game at FedEx Field. It appears to be another ploy in a week full of antics by the Cowboys leading into the rivalry game.
Turns out the ordeal with the benches can be traced back to the Seattle Seahawks. ESPN’s Todd Archer explains the Seahawks gave the Cowboys the heads up about the benches provided by FedEx Field having trouble staying warm during their Week 12 Monday Night football game.
So, it looks like the Seahawks were a bit salty about their 17-15 loss to Washington two weeks ago. Then gave a hat tip to the Cowboys to prepare them for Sunday.
Teams always help each other. And it’s unclear if the Seahawks initiated the contact or if the Cowboys solicited the advice. However, a Washington loss would benefit the Seahawks as well. They currently trail Washington and San Francisco in the race for wild card spots in the NFC.
It’s December and warmed benches are underrated in a team’s pursuit of a win, it appears.
