Mason Foster has had enough with being the scapegoat of the Washington Redskins. The inside linebacker was a target of fans, who were blaming him for the team’s latest struggles that have included a four-game losing streak, including an embarrassing 40-16 loss to the New York Giants last week.

After getting hammered by ruthless Redskins fans about his performance of late, Foster voiced his frustration in an Instagram direct message. Unfortunately, in doing so, he presumably threw his teammates under the bus and may have upset the entire fan base, even those who were defending him.

Those were pretty strong words from one of the leaders of the Redskins defense. Foster also went on to say in the exchange “Yeah I’ll try my chances and go to a winning team next year.”

It remains to be seen how other Redskins players will perceive Foster’s words in the DM. However, it’s interesting to note, the Redskins posted a promotion for their next game against the Jacksonville Jaguars featuring Foster. The tweet has since been deleted, per Burgundy Blog.

Redskins head coach Jay Gruden was asked about Foster’s Instagram exchange. Gruden went on to say there would be no punishment for Foster but the whoever leaked the DM “broke the code” of a private exchange, per John Keim of ESPN.

Foster signed a two-year extension with the Redskins this past off-season worth $3.4 million. And now it will be interesting if he sees the second year of the contract between the team’s struggling performance of late and his tirade in the DM.
