The Washington Football Team may be adding to their wide receiver depth. The team hosted wideout Dontrelle Inman on a free agent visit, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.
Wide receiver is one of Washington’s positions in need of quality depth. Washington entered training camp without two players expected to compete for a prominent role in the passing game.
Kelvin Harmon has been ruled out for the season after tearing his ACL in a workout. Cody Latimer was placed on the NFL’s commissioner exempt list as he faces multiple charges, including four felonies stemming from a May incident in Denver.
Aside from Terry McLaurin and Steven Sims Jr., Washington is fishing to find a true top-3 option for whatever QB wins the starting role between Dwayne Haskins, Kyle Allen or potentially Alex Smith.
With Harmon and Latimer out, rookie Antonio Gandy-Golden will have the opportunity to emerge in the top rotation at wide receiver. However, Washington lacks experience at the position. Sims, who is entering his second year, has the most game experience with 16 games played.
Additionally, Washington has oft-injured Trey Quinn, who has appeared in 15 games since being drafted in 2018, along with Cam Sims as the more notable options.
Inman entered the NFL in 2011 undrafted out of the University of Virginia. He has appeared in 65 games throughout his career. The most being with the Chargers with his best season coming in 2016 in which he had 58 catches, 810 yards and four touchdowns.
Inman also spent time in the CFL and with the Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears, New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars.
