The Maryland Terrapins have new home threads for the upcoming 2018 season. Under Armour unveiled the new design, celebrating the 10-year partnership between the school and the athletic apparel brand. The uniforms are set to debut on Sept. 1 when the Terrapins play the Texas Longhorns at FedEx Field in Landover.

Under Armour designed the uniforms with helpful feedback from Maryland’s student body, alumni and faculty.
“Designing the uniforms for Maryland football has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Especially with such an iconic and important design focal point like the Maryland flag,” Nick Billiris, Senior Design Director of Team Sports at Under Armour, said in a statement. “We want to make sure that we’re making a statement about not only UMD football and the UA brand, but that the entire state of Maryland is represented in the best way possible.”
Noticeable changes from last season’s uniforms start with the jersey no longer featuring the black stripes on the shoulder. The “Maryland” lettering and UA logo are white now from gold a season ago. The black stripes with “Maryland” written above the knee caps of the pants are also gone. The state flag from a year ago has been replaced by the university’s “M” logo. The Under Armour logo is now in red.

All together the uniforms are much cleaner look with the stripes gone. The mostly solid red and white is a perfect match and gives a closer to traditional look. The state flag hand-painted helmets remain the same and now they have a justifiable matching uniform.
