Washington Redskins rookie linebacker Shaun Dion Hamilton is battling for a roster spot among a competitive group at inside linebacker. In Thursday’s preseason finale and , Hamilton got off to a rough start.
Hamilton found himself one-on-one and in perfect situation to make a pure wrap up tackle on a second down run on the opening drive. However, Hamilton whiffed on the tackle as Ravens rookie linebacker De’Lance Turner made a move to get by him.

Hamilton’s missed tackle proved costly as Turner cut up field afterwards for a 28-yard gain. Baltimore ultimately scored a touchdown on the 13-play, 81-yard drive. Turner’s run was the biggest gain of the drive.
Good thing is Hamilton bounced back as the game went on, collecting four tackles in the first half, including a huge third down stuff to force a punt.

Hamilton had great play recognition and shot through the gap past a slow-stepping right guard to bring down the running back.
