Jonathan Allen calls new Washington uniforms ‘phenomenal’

Sunday was the last presumed game played by the Washington NFL franchise under the “Washington Football Team” name. The team will announce a new permanent name and logo with uniforms on Feb. 2.

There has been a lot of speculation about what the new name will be. However, the team has been tight-lipped. Defensive tackle and one of the team’s captains Jonathan Allen knows the new name and believes fans will love it. He’s also excited about the new uniforms.

“You can see the time and the effort put into it,” Allen said per Pete Hailey of NBC Sports Washington. “The jerseys are phenomenal. Everything works”

Washington has revealed bits and pieces about the uniforms. It’s hard to judge how great the finished product is. But some leaked details appear to be interesting. Super Bowl XXII MVP Doug Williams called the uniforms “clean” in the team’s promotional video.

There have been hints the name could be the Washington Commanders. Some believe it’s the Washington Admirals. Others are holding out hope the new name is something not being mentioned. Unless there is a definitive leak, everyone but a select few are in the dark about the new name.

Nonetheless, Washington wide receiver Terry McLaurin will be part of the name reveal. February 2 cannot get here soon enough.
