Washington Redskins linebacker Reuben Foster underwent successful knee surgery Tuesday to repair his torn ACL and LCL, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Foster was injured three snaps into his first OTAs practice with the Redskins. According to head coach Jay Gruden, Foster stepped on the foot of teammate Tyler Catalina.
The Redskins placed Foster on injured reserve and signed linebacker Jon Bostic in the aftermath.
The good news is Foster is expected to be ready for the 2020 season. He’ll be entering the final year of his rookie contract when he returns. Foster’s drug suspension in 2018 while with the San Francisco 49ers voided his remaining salary guarantees. Washington has the option to pick up Foster’s fifth-year option for 2021 season.
