VIDEO: Trea Turner Hits Two-run Walk-off HR

The Washington Nationals got a ‘Curly W’ in dramatic fashion, as Trea Turner bolted a walk-off two-run homer in the ninth to give the Nationals a 6-4 win over the Chicago White Sox.

Turner becomes the first MLB player this season with two walk-off hits — both of which were homers.

The walk-off homer was Turner’s lone hit of the day as he went 1-for-5 with three strikeouts.

The Nationals built a 4-1 lead highlighted by two RBIs by catcher Kurt Suzuki and two runs by Matt Adams. Anibal Sanchez had a second straight strong performance going 5 1/3 innings, allowing one run off four hits, one walk, and striking out seven.

However, the Nationals’ bullpen, who had been strong in their previous three games, took a step back. The White Sox tied the game at 4-4 with three runs in the eighth behind back-to-back home runs.

White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu hit a two run shot to left off Kyle Barraclough. After the pitching change, Wander Suero allowed a solo homer to the next batter, catcher Welington Castillo, to tie the game.

Nationals second baseman Brian Dozier drew a lead-off walk in the ninth, setting up Turner’s heroics.

The Nationals have now won nine of their last 11 games. The two-game sweep is Washington’s fourth-straight series win.
