Looking to bounce back from their first series loss since May 23, the Washington Nationals got off to a good start Tuesday against the Miami Marlins. With two runners on base, Nationals shortstop Trea Turner tattooed a three-run blast to left for his 50th-career home run.
Turner’s blast extended the Nationals’ lead to 6-0 in the fourth inning.
Turner has been an offensive force much of the season. Entering Tuesday’s game he was hitting .283/.341/.491. He now has six home runs and 19 RBIs batting primarily out of the lead-off spot.
