Frustration set in for the Mystics after they let Game 4 and a chance to be crowned WNBA champions slip away Tuesday in Connecticut. The Sun held on to beat the Mystics 90-86 forcing a winner-take-all Game 5 in DC Thursday.

Mystics guard Natasha Cloud was adamant Washington will be victorious Thursday night.

“Our fans better be ready, because we’re winning a championship on our floor,” Cloud emphatically proclaimed via Darren M. Haynes of WUSA9.

When asked if that was a guarantee, Cloud responded, “Facts, period.”

The Mystics are playing in the second consecutive WNBA Finals. They cruised through the regular season, finishing with the best record in the league.

Yet, the Sun can hold their own. They finished second in the league standings, and were dubbed the Mystics’ biggest threat from preventing their first WNBA championship.

Many experts predicted this series would go to a decisive Game 5, so there’s no surprise the Finals are at this point. However, it’s also expected to be the Mystics’ coronation. As exemplified in Game 4, the Sun won’t back down.

They don’t need the bulletin material Cloud provided following Game 4. But they have taken notice, as Sun guard Courtney Williams already fired back via Twitter at Cloud’s proclamation.
