Bill Callahan Sticking with Case Keenum as Redskins Starting QB

Case Keenum did not impress in his return against the Miami Dolphins, completing 13-of-25 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns. However, that was enough for Redskins interim head coach Bill Callahan to stick with Keenum as the starting quarterback.

The shaky numbers are laminated by the fact he was going up against the worst defense in the NFL the Dolphins. The Redskins edged the Dolphins 17-16 for their first win of the season, and Callahan apparently still believes Keenum gives them their best shot to continue their success.

That means rookie quarterback and first-round pick Dwayne Haskins will have to wait longer before he gets his first NFL start. He’ll be relegated to being Keenum’s backup and developing in practice until his shot.

The Redskins next opponent, the San Francisco 49ers back home at FedEx Field.
