Ryan Zimmerman Crushes Solo Home Run in His First World Series at-Bat

Ryan Zimmerman waited 15 seasons to get an opportunity to play in the World Series. The Washington Nationals first-ever draft pick made the most of his first at-bat in the Fall Classic, blasting a solo home run of Houston Astros ace Gerrit Cole in the second inning.

Zimmerman’s home run cuts the Nationals deficit to 2-1. The Astros put two runs up on Max Schezer in the first. But, with an offense like Washington’s they’re not out of it.

This could the final season for Ryan Zimmerman in the nation’s capital, as he has a non-guaranteed $18 million next season remaining on a six-year $100 million deal. Mr. National is making the most of it, if it is indeed his final run.
