Fresh off his first Pro Bowl nod, punter Tress Way is being rewarded. Way and the Redskins have agreed to a four-year extension worth $15 million, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Way had one year remaining on his deal for 2020 season that would was set at $1.45 million. Now the Pro Bowl punter is under contract with the Redskins for the next five seasons.

Way leads NFL punters with a 49.2 yards average per punt. He is fourth in net average at 43.8 yards per punt. He has 29 punts inside the 20 yard line. He also has the longest punt of the season in the league at 79 yards thus far.

Thanks in large to an unproductive offense, way has shined with his punts changing field position. He has been one of the few bright spots this season during the Redskins’ disappointing season.

As the team is set to continue their rebuild, Tress Way has established himself as a constant and part of the Redskins’ foundation on the field.
