It’s becoming daily that a report or rumor surfaces about Dwayne Haskins or the Washington Redskins plans for another quarterback. Honestly, it’s the business of the NFL.
The Washington Redskins are either drawing smokescreens, strongly considering drafting a quarterback with the No. 2 pick overall or set to pursue veteran quarterback Philip Rivers, depending which you rather believe.
This is all after the team drafted Haskins in the first round of last year’s NFL Draft.
Haskins has subliminally addressed the rumors with tweets of appropriate Gifs. However, the soon-to-be second year pro appears to answer the rumors and questions of his work ethic and dedication the best way… simply working out.
Tuesday a pair of videos surfaced showing the Redskins quarterback working out.
The first was shared by Haskins, himself, throwing a pass to Redskins wide receiver Kelvin Harmon at Redskins Park.
The second was shared by the Redskins of Haskins working on his footwork in the pocket. The caption reads “Them: talk, talk, talk, @dh_simb7: shhh emoji.”
Redskins head coach Ron Rivera told reporters last week at the NFL Scouting Combine, Haskins has been a constant presence at Redskins Park in Ashburn.
It’s a great sight to see from such a young quarterback. The NFL limits contact with coaches during the off-season but Haskins is taking full advantage of being around the team’s facility working out.
He has yet to say much surrounding the growing rumor mill. And he probably shouldn’t. The best way to react is what he is doing now in the videos. He appears dedicated in impressing his new coaching staff and improving on up-and-down rookie season.
There is no way of knowing what the Redskins’ true intentions are at quarterback. Are they simply just trying to motivate Haskins to get better?
All that he can control is getting better on his own. From a far that’s been his plan all along.
