NFL players are prohibited from working out at team facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s not stopped Washington Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins from working out ahead of his second NFL season. There’s been a series of videos of Haskins working out shared throughout the offseason.
He has been working with various teammates and players around the league, including top free agent Antonio Brown.
Haskins and Brown were back at it on the field. The latest videos shared show the two working out at night in the dark with limited lights. The pair were later joined by Haskins’ former Ohio State teammate JK Dobbins, Jerry Jeudy and Pro Football Hall of Famer Terrell Owens.
From the first sight of Brown working out with Haskins, speculation has sparked of Brown joining the Redskins. Redskins head coach Ron Rivera didn’t entirely shoot down the idea. But suggested signing him could stunt the growth of the young Redskins wide receivers group. Pro Football Focus urged the Redskins to sign Brown. The latest videos won’t silence the chatter.
Brown to the Redskins may not be on the radar right not. But, Haskins’ workouts are.
Keep in mind the shared videos are just snapshots of the work Haskins is putting in. Players around the league have been forced to partner with each other and work out in these rare circumstances.
He has transformed his body this offseason. Last month, he confirmed he shed 10 pounds he carried during his rookie season. He also trimmed down to seven percent body fat.
Haskins’ rookie season left a lot to be desired. But through the limitations presented, he appears to be doing all he can to alter the narrative entering his second year.
His new coaching staff is impressed and pleased with his offseason program. Hopefully for him and the Redskins, his offseason efforts translates on the field during the 2020 season.
