John Wall is working hard to return to the playing court next season. While his team, the Washington Wizards, are in Orlando for the bubble NBA restart, Wall is training and rehabbing from the torn Achilles he suffered in January 2019.
Wall gave a glimpse of his hard work. If the video is any indication, Wall is certain to on the path of a comeback season.
In the recording, Wall shows off his handles before throwing down a 360 dunk. The sequence is significant, showing his ability to sit, explode with a first step, and lift. All great signs his recovery is coming along.
Wall wasn’t finished with the dunk. He continued by sinking down for a spot-up corner three before sprinting the baseline for another corner trey.
Wall had revved into participating in whole court scrimmages with teammates and development coaches before the coronavirus pandemic halted the NBA season. When the league resumed and the team went down to Orlando, Wall was able to restart his rehab.
Wizards head coach Scott Brooks raves about Wall’s progress at every opportunity to chat about the five-time All-Star. Brooks went as far to say Wall is “better than ever.”
That’s saying a lot given the fact Wall averaged 20.7 points and 8.7 assists during the 2018-19 season, his last before suffering his injury.
