Washington Football Team reveals close-up of new helmets

The Washington Football Team is undergoing a re-branding as the team retires its old mascot name and logo. It’s unclear how much different their uniforms will look, but Washington will have a different look with the helmets.

With the team unsettled on a permanent new name, the team’s helmets will feature each individual player’s number in gold. Wednesday, the team shared a close-up look of how the helmets will look.

First with a video of staff placing the helmet sticker of safety Landon Collins. Then photos of the finished product.

Washington will be the lone NFL team with numbers as the logo decal on their helmets, reminiscent of the Alabama Crimson Tide in college football. It’s unclear if Alabama was any inspiration but coincidentally, Washington has the most players from the Crimson Tide in the NFL with nine, including Collins.

Washington announced the retirement of their former name and logo last month. The team later announced they will be referred to as the “Washington Football Team” for the 2020 season not having much time to settle on a permanent new name.

In what will be a unique season in many aspects, Washington will have a rather unique look that fans will look back on.
