Morgan Moses, Steven Sims Jr. active vs. Browns

The Washington Football Team coaching staff is breathing a sigh of relief as two of their top offensive players will be active Sunday vs. the Cleveland Browns. Right tackle Morgan Moses (hip) and wide receiver Steven Sims Jr. (toe) will play for Washington. Both players struggled with their respective injuries throughout the week of practice.

Moses will be able to extend his 82-game consecutive start streak. He hasn’t missed a start since his rookie season in 2014.

As for the inactives, quarterback Alex Smith and running back Bryce Love will not dress for the third straight game. Both players are coming back from serious injuries suffered in 2018.

Washington head coach Ron Rivera revealed Smith has been split scouting team reps with backup quarterback Kyle Allen, saying he started to see the “rust coming off” of Smith through practice.

Love continues not to be active for game day. He is currently fourth on the depth chart at running back behind rookie Antonio Gibson, JD McKissic and Peyton Barber.

Rookie offensive tackle Saahdiq Charles suffered a setback with his leg injury and did not practice this week. Charles has yet to be active this season. Linebacker Cole Holcomb will miss his second straight game with a knee injury he suffered in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Interesting to note, cornerback Kendall Fuller will be active for the first time this season. He has dealt with a knee injury that kept him out of the first two games of the season. He signed a four-year, $40 million deal this off-season to return to Washington as their top cover corner.

With Fuller’s return Danny Johnson will be inactive.
