Washington OL Saahdiq Charles suffered dislocated kneecap

Washington rookie offensive lineman Saahdiq Charles suffered a dislocated kneecap in his NFL debut Sunday, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Charles will miss this week’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, but the team is hopeful he can return following Washington’s bye in Week 8.

Charles was injured on the second offensive snap of the game. He was making his pro debut against the New York Giants, starting at left guard after being inactive the first five games of the season. Veteran Wes Schweitzer replaced him in the game.

Washington drafted Charles in the fourth round this year out of LSU. He has struggled with injuries from the onset of his career. A calf injury kept him out of a portion of training camp. He also dealt with a thigh injury that in large kept him from playing earlier this season.
