Watch: Maryland defense returns sack fumble for TD to continue rout over Penn State

The big plays keep coming for Maryland and against Penn State. Maryland took a 28-7 lead into halftime. The fortunes of Maryland continued on the opening drive of the second half thanks to its defense.

Safety Nick Cross came free off a blitz to hit Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford. The hit jarred the ball free before being scooped up by Maryland linebacker Chance Campbell. Campbell rolled 34 yards to the end zone off the recovery, extending Maryland’s lead to 35-7.

Maryland’s offense scored off four big plays, all of which at least 34 yards. Now, its defense has a 34-yard score of its own in what is turning into a rout for the Terrapins.
