Kyle Allen following ankle injury: ‘I’ll be back stronger and better’

Washington Football Team quarterback Kyle Allen had his season come to an abrupt end Sunday against the New York Giants. Allen suffered a dislocated ankle when he was leg-whipped by Giants safety Jabrill Peppers.

Late Sunday night, Allen posted an image on Instagram of him being carted off the field. Allen thanked the fans for their outpouring supports, and vowed “I’ll be stronger and better because of it.”

Allen started four games this season for Washington following the benching of Dwayne Haskins. He appeared to have settled in his role as the starter before his devastating injury.

Fortunately, the injury may have looked worse than actually is and Allen may not need surgery pending an MRI Monday.

Allen wrote on his Instagram post he “Loved every second of my first year in Washington. I can’t wait for more!”

Allen is expected to be out for the remainder of the season although there is no official word, yet. Washington will turn to Alex Smith as their starting quarterback while Haskins will be elevated from third-string to backup moving forward, head coach Ron Rivera announced.
