Washington activates 21-day practice window on Antonio Gandy-Golden

Antonio Gandy-Golden returned to practice on Thursday. It was his first since being placed on injured reserve on Oct. 24 with a hamstring injury. The Washington Football Team activated the 21-day practice window on the rookie wide receiver. Washington has until Dec. 31 to activate him to the 53-man roster or shut down his season by leaving him on injured reserve.

The team hopes to get him up to speed in the coming practices after he missed several weeks. Gandy-Golden suffered the injury running a route in a Week 6 game against the New York Giants.

Gandy-Golden “looked great” in his first practice back according to Washington’s head coach Ron Rivera. Due to the short week for Washington, Gandy-Golden will have to wait another week before being activated.

Washington selected Gandy-Golden in the fourth round of this year’s NFL Draft out of Liberty. He has not been able to get going in his first year in the NFL. He has appeared in five games, catching one pass for three yards.
