A group of former Washington Football Team cheerleaders who appeared in a pair of lewd videos have reached a confidential settlement with the NFL team, according to a report by the Washington Post.
The cheerleaders were secretly videoed during swimsuit calendar shoots in 2008 and 2010. The two 10-minute videos, obtained by the Post, were produced featuring outtakes of the women’s exposed body parts, including nipples and pubic areas. The shots came from the cheerleaders repositioning, adjusting props and outfits.
The cheerleaders obtained legal representation following the August 2020 report by the Washington Post.
Attorney Cindy Minniti, who represented the Washington Football Team told the Post “the matter has been resolved.”
Two former Washington employees stated senior vice president Larry Michael asked for the videos to be produced. One said Michael said the videos were for owner Daniel Snyder, although both Michael and Snyder denied the allegations. Michael retired last summer just prior to separate Washington Post report of sexual harassment and misconduct within the organization by more than a dozen female employees.
The NFL is overseeing an independent investigation headed by attorney Beth Wilkinson stemming from the sexual harassment and misconduct claims.
Meanwhile, news of a settlement with the former cheerleaders comes two days after Washington paused their cheerleading program with plans of re-branding the group. The cheerleading director position, previously held by Jamilla Keene, has been eliminated.
