Maryland uses Drake to roast West Virginia after win

The social media team of the Maryland Terrapins was in a festive mood following the football team’s 30-24 win over West Virginia. They took the opportunity to roast their Border Battle rivals, feeding off the “Certified Lover Boy” album cover meme of acclaimed rapper Drake.

Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa threw for 332 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receivers Dontay Demus Jr. and Rakim Jarrett were the two prime targets of Tagovailoa. Both went over 100 yards receiving and each caught a 60-yard touchdown in the win.

The Terrapins are 3-0 in season openers under head coach Mike Locksley. The win snaps a two-game losing streak to the Mountaineers. West Virginia leads the all-time series 28-23-2, winning nine of the past 10 meetings prior to Saturday.

Maryland’s social media wasn’t done their trolling following the win.

The Terps dubbed WVU “LVU” using the caption of “Country Woes” a play on John Denver’s song “Take Me Home, Country Roads” which is played at every West Virginia game.

It’s just one week into the season and the Maryland social media team is on fire. They’ve served notice to the rest of their opponents. If the Terps win, they’re foes will fall victim on and off the field.
