Watch: Fight breaks out between two Washington fans wearing Sean Taylor, Clinton Portis jerseys

The Washington Football Team entered this season with high hopes after winning the NFC East a year ago. However, Week 1 turned disastrous for Washington.

Starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick suffered a hip injury that may sideline him for multiple weeks. Antonio Gibson had a key fumble that led to the go-ahead touchdown by the Los Angeles Chargers. Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert carved up Washington’s defense completing 13 third-down passes.

Throw in a pipe bursting and dumping what is believed to have been rain water on fans. It was a frustrating day for Washington Football Team fans. So much so, a couple of fans took out their frustration on each other.

One fan had on a throwback Clinton Portis jersey. The other had on the jersey of the late great Sean Taylor. Ironically, Portis and Taylor were close friends going back to their days at the University of Miami (FL). So, it’s very disappointing to see two fans wearing their jerseys punching on each other.

It’s unclear what caused the dissension between the two fans. But, it adds to the miserable day at FedEx Field for most fans who were rooting for WFT.

Fights have become far more common in stands of NFL stadiums. Or it could be they were always happening, just everyone now have phones in hand to record.
