Nationals not bringing back coaches Bob Henley, Randy Knorr

Longtime coaches Bob Henley and Randy Knorr will not return to the Washington Nationals major league coaching staff next season, according to Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post. Both are expected to remain with the organization in player development.

Last season Henley served as the third base coach and Knor was the first base coach. Both are two of the longest-tenured coaches within the organization.

Henley was part of the 2019 World Series championship team. He had been pat of the coaching staff in the majors since 2014, going back to former manager Matt Williams and Dusty Baker before current manager Dave Martinez.

Knorr served as the manager of the Nationals Triple-A affiliates in Syracuse and Fresno from 2018 and 2019,respectively before joining the Nats major league staff last season.

The rest of last season’s coaching staff will return in their prior positions.
