Robert Griffin III writing tell-all book set to expose WFT months after saying he would ‘love to go back’ to team

In September, Robert Griffin III said he “would love” to return to the Washington Football Team. Now, the former Heisman Trophy winner is advertising his tell-all book named “Surviving Washington.”

The 31-year old Griffin says he will walk readers through one of the most dysfunctional franchises in sports. He will “tell you the truth” what happened in the infamous 2012 playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks that ended with his career-altering knee injury.

Griffin says he’ll detail the medical mismanagement he received during his time with Washington. He will “open your eyes” to the sexual harassment and misconduct that circulated within the organization. And will give a “deep dive” into the power struggle between owner Dan Snyder and former head coach Mike Shanahan.

“Surviving Washington” is set to release in August 2022. It’s around the same time Washington will be preparing for their first preseason under their new name that has yet to be revealed.

Robert Griffin III spent three eventful seasons with Washington. He captivated Washington fans winning Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2012 as the second overall draft pick. However, a torn ACL against the Seahawks changed the direction of his career and stay in Washington.

Griffin ultimately was supplanted by Kirk Cousins at starting quarterback in 2015. Griffin made a pit stop in Cleveland in 2016. But, he was out of the league in 2017. He finished his career as a backup for three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens.

Griffin retired from the NFL this year. He is currently working as an analyst for ESPN, primarily doing commentary for college football games.
