Two Washington rookies were on scene of fatal car crash

Washington Football Team safety Deshazor Everett was involved in a fatal car crash in Loudoun County, Virginia Thursday evening. A female passenger, Olivia S. Peters, 29, passed away from her injuries.

Everett was hospitalized with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Everett was driving his 2010 Nissan GT-R when it veered off the right side of the roadway, struck several trees and rolled over. The cause of the incident is still under investigation by local authorities.

Not many details have emerged beyond the initial round of the news breaking Friday morning. However, according to ESPN’s John Keim, Everett wasn’t the only Washington Football Team player on the scene of the deadly accident.

Washington linebacker Jamin Davis and cornerback Benjamin St-Juste — both rookies — were driving in a car behind Everett’s. The group was out for dinner. Davis and St-Juste remained at the scene and spoke with police.

Davis, who was dealing with a shoulder injury earlier in the week, was excused from Friday’s practice for personal reasons. Washington head coach Ron Rivera expects Davis will play in Sunday’s game at the Dallas Cowboys.

St-Juste is currently on injured reserve with a concussion.

Everett has been ruled out against the Cowboys for personal reasons according to the injury report.

Rivera said he is “very sad” to hear the new of the crash.

“My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the young lady and also out to Deshazor and his family as well,” Rivera said per Keim. “It’s a very difficult situation and we’ll let things go on and let the police and the investigation go through and find out what happened.”
