The play led to Wizards teammates Montrezl Harrell and KCP coming to blows

Washington Wizards teammates Montrezl Harrell and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope came to blows at halftime of Tuesday’s win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Harrell was upset that Caldwell-Pope didn’t throw him the ball on the Wizards’ final possession before the half. The play that led to the physical confrontation was captured by NBC Sports Washington’s Chase Hughes.

KCP was racing against the clock and jacked up a mid-court heave at the buzzer. However, Harrell appeared to be wide open near the basket underneath. Did KCP have time to make the pass?

That’s could be up for debate.

You can also see Harrell step off the court in frustration. Then at the end of the video, you can see the two exchange words heading into the tunnel.

Per Charania, both Harrell and KCP threw punches at each other. Fortunately, neither connected. Teammates intervened and separated the two before players reached the locker room.
