Maryland Terrapins wide receiver Rakim Jarrett announced he has declared for the 2023 NFL Draft, per the Washington Post’s Emily Giambalvo. Jarrett will not play in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl against N.C. State.
Jarrett becomes the third integral Maryland wide receiver who will not be on the field on Dec. 30 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dontay Demus Jr. and Jacob Copeland previously declared for the draft.
Jarrett was a five-star recruit from St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C. He spurned LSU to commit to Maryland in 2020, joining head coach Mike Locksley and Alabama transfer Tua Tagovailoa.
In three seasons at Maryland, Jarrett had 119 catches, 1,552 receiving yards, and ten touchdowns in 28 games. Jarrett had three catches for 65 yards against Ohio State, his last game in a Maryland uniform.
Jarrett did not play in Maryland’s final regular season game, a 37-0 win over Rutgers, due to an injury.

As everyone in attendance laughed, Jarrett responded by saying, “I’m sorry Rutgers.”
Rakim Jarrett stands at 6 feet tall and is 194 pounds. His 4.43 speed and soft hands are his biggest strengths entering the draft evaluation. CBS Sports ranks Jarrett as the No. 7 wide receiver prospect and 63rd overall, which projects him as a Day 2 draft pick.
