Jordan Poole returns to Chase Center just before Christmas

Jordan Poole’s much-anticipated return to The Chase Center has been revealed. Jordan Poole had a tumultuous final season with the Golden State Warriors. Despite averaging a career-high 20.4 points, Poole’s season was marred by the infamous punch from Draymond Green.

Poole’s playoff performance and discord with head coach Steve Kerr placed an exclamation point on his embattled season.

Ultimately, the Warriors traded Poole to the Washington Wizards, acquiring 38-year-old perennial all-star Chris Paul. It’s a move that new Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy said he didn’t lose sleep over.

Despite Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson’s support toward Poole, comments by the GM and Green, which sparked replies from Poole, his dad, and his friend, have laminated the tension between Poole and the organization.

The circumstances surrounding Poole’s departure from Golden State created higher-than-normal anticipation for the Warriors-Wizards games. Even NBA2K24 highlighted the ongoing feud in a trailer promoting the upcoming video game.

With the NBA releasing the schedule Thursday, news broke that Poole’s first return to the Chase Center will be Dec. 22nd to face his former teammates.

The Wizards and Warriors have had intense matchups previously constructed around the backcourt battles of the Splash Brothers vs. the duo of John Wall and Bradley Beal. And you can’t forget the tussle between Beal and Green in 2017. But, those pales in comparison to Poole vs. Green, Kerr, and the Warriors organization.

There’s bad blood between Poole and Green. Additionally, Poole may have added motivation to prove to Kerr that he deserved an extended role in Golden State.

Poole’s return to the Bay Area comes three days before Christmas, and when the Warriors host the defending NBA champion, Denver Nuggets. Beating his former team while putting on a show against Green may be the perfect Christmas present for Jordan Poole.
