Redskins Owner Dan Snyder Wishes ‘Happy Thanksgiving’ Before Ron Rivera Introduction

Dan Snyder excited to introduce the Washington Redskins new head coach Ron Rivera. He may have been too excited and a tongue slip led to the Redskins owner wishing everyone a “Happy Thanksgiving!”

First thought, maybe he was joking considering this offseason has been about Snyder delivering what the Redskins fans wanted. He fired longtime team president Bruce Allen. Then dismissed head trainer Larry Hess. All while hiring a proven head coach in Rivera, who landed another proven coach in Jack Del Rio as defensive coordinator.

However, Snyder didn’t laugh (although Rivera chuckled quite a bit) from his tongue slip. So, Snyder made an honest mistake? Or maybe not.

There could be a couple of reasons behind the “slip.”

For starters, he may have meant to say “Happy New Year’s?”

Or it could have been a deeper explanation that went over many heads, pointing back to being a joke?

Snyder’s Redskins beat the Carolina Panthers, who were coached by Rivera, on Dec. 1 — the weekend after Thanksgiving.

According to Rivera, Snyder contacted him through his agent shortly after his firing. The two had conversations about Rivera being the Redskins coach.

Maybe Snyder lost track of time with his focus being on snagging Rivera and making adjustments through his organization?

Nonetheless, Snyder’s is going viral.
