Washington placing OL Saahdiq Charles on IR with dislocated kneecap

The Washington Football Team is placing rookie offensive lineman Saahdiq Charles on injured reserve, according to Sam Fortier of the Washington Post.

Charles, a fourth-round pick out of LSU, made his NFL debut last week against the New York Giants. Unfortunately, the rookie suffered a dislocated kneecap on the second snap of his career.

Charles had already been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. The team had hoped he could return following their bye week against the Giants in Week 9. However, he will be out at least three games before he is eligible to return to the active roster.

This is the latest to a series of injuries that has hampered his rookie season. Drafted as a left tackle, Saahdiq Charles was bothered by a calf injury during training camp. A thigh injury and lack of practice time led to him being inactive for the first five games of the season. Now, he’ll have to recover from a dislocated kneecap before he can get his NFL career up and moving forward.
